The Breitling Superocean Automatic 44, reference A17376211C1S1, is a men's dive watch based on the Slow Motion, a stripped-back model Breitling built for scuba divers in the 1960s. Legibility still comes first, though it sits as comfortably at a beach bar or dinner table as it does underwater.
Its 44 mm stainless steel case is 12.62 mm thick. Broad hands and chunky indexes in Super-LumiNova stand out against an ice blue dial, seen through cambered sapphire that is glareproofed on both sides. A ratcheted unidirectional bezel carries a scratch-resistant ceramic inlay. The blue rubber strap closes with a steel folding clasp that extends by up to 15 mm to fit over a wetsuit.
Inside runs the Breitling 17 automatic calibre, with a power reserve of approximately 38 hours. Rated to 300 metres and built to resist shocks, sand and saltwater, this Superocean is ready for proper diving.
