The TAG Heuer Formula 1 Solargraph, reference WBY1112.BA0042, is a solar-powered sports watch that takes its cue from the first Series 1 model. Bright blue and sized at 38 mm, it suits someone who enjoys colour on the wrist and likes newer technology.
The sand-blasted steel case is 9.9 mm thick and wears comfortably on most wrists. A blue opalin dial sits inside a white flange, and its rhodium-plated hands and applied indexes carry Super-LumiNova for easy reading at night. A turning bezel in TH-Polylight, a modern material, surrounds the dial, while the steel bracelet fastens with a double-security folding clasp.
Powering it is the Calibre TH50-00 Solargraph, a quartz movement that recharges from daylight and indoor lighting alike, so the battery never needs changing. A full charge lasts up to 10 months, and a single minute of light covers a whole day. Hours, minutes, seconds and the date are shown, and 100 metres of water resistance means it is fine for swimming.
